Hawkes-Bay-Hawks (NBL) agreed terms with 29-year old international forward Jordan Ngatai (196cm-98kg-1993, college: BYU-Hawaii, agency: BIG) for new 2023 season. Ngatai played last summer at Saints. In 18 New Zealand games he had 8.7ppg, 4.3rpg and 2.9apg. The last season he played at Cairns Taipans in Australian NBL where in 23 games he recorded 3.0ppg, 1.8rpg and 1.0apg.
He has been also a member of New Zealand international program for some years. Ngatai has regularly played for New Zealand senior team since 2013 and previously for U18 National Team back in 2010.
He represented New Zealand at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast (Australia) five years ago. His team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 5 games: 6.0ppg, 3.6rpg, FGP: 40.0%, 3PT: 35.7%, FT: 77.8%.
Ngatai has played previously for two other New Zealand teams: Nuggets and New Zealand Breakers. He won New Zealand NBL championship title in 2014, 2017, 2019 and 2020.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted to Australiabasket.com All-New Zealand NBL Honorable Mention back in 2016.
Ngatai graduated from Brigham Young University - Hawaii in 2014 and it will be his tenth season as a professional player.
